November 2007 Jobs

November 2007

Here are some projects that were completed during the month of November.  You can see some of the work that we are completing nationwide.  Some jobs are completed during our standard service levels and some jobs are either Urgent or Critical.

MidState Illinois

We received the call for a wheelchair ramp need in midstate Illinois on Friday November 9th.  On Monday November 12th we responded to our customer with our proposed options for the home.  With a 32 inch rise off the porch and a 6 inch rise at the door we had to overcome a total of 38 inches in rise.  We set a level landing at the entrance of the home and ran down 12 feet to a 5x5 turn landing and then 26 feet over to the driveway.  The job was awarded on Monday afternoon the 12th of November.

We had the ramp system installed on Tuesday, November 13th by 4:30pm

Fast Turn Around

This job came to us on October 24th, 2007.  We responded and were able to have it completed in 3 working days from the time we received the approval to proceed.

This home had a rise of 44 inches which required a ramp run of 44 feet.  Because of the lenght of ramp required we used a 5x5 at the top to turn the ramp 90 degrees and then ran down 22 feet to a 5' x 8' turnback landing and came back 22 feet.

Northern Michigan

Here is a job that was located in Michigan near Alpena.  The request came to us on October 29th.  We responded to the task, evaluated the job, shipped product and had it installed by end of day November 5th.

The home had a 46 inch rise which required 46 feet of ramp.  3 platforms were used to make the system turn 90 degrees and run along side of the home towards the driveway

Northern Florida

This job in northern Florida was a small challenge.  With a rise of 46" we needed to install 46 feet of ramp.  Although we have plenty of space to install the ramp, we wanted to make it user friendly because any visitor would be required to access the home by the ramp as well.

By laying the ramp out with a 180 degree switchback, we were able to keep the ramp close to the home and keep the parking area as close as possible for added comfort.

Take notice that in a situation where we end up in the grass or dirt we will add an aluminum ground pad.  This will allow easy transfer of the chair user into a vehicle with minimal contact to the ground surface.
